The Armadillo LT™ is a solid choice for year-round hiking and snowshoeing.

  • Waterproof to 20,000mm.
  • Breathability rating: 6RET, 15.000 + g.
  • YKK zipper brings the gaiter close to the leg.
  • DWR coating will remain intact for up to 50 washes.

At the beginning of winter I was lucky enough to get sent a pair. At first I was a little skeptical. However, even though our winter was short these little guys came in handy. It was more of a slushy winter than a snowy one here in Toronto. So I was very grateful for the waterproof aspect of these gaiter's. I found them very easy to put on over my shoes and it was stretchy which gave it a really snug fit.

Im a size 9 and the medium fit me perfectly. The best thing about them is that I could use them with most of my shoes (and I have a lot). I like that they are black and went with my wardrobe as well. I always used them to walk my dog and my feet stayed dry and comfortable.

Overall I give the http://hillsound.com/hillsound-product/armadillo-lt-gaiter/ a 9/10. I wish that they were insulated. Non the less I would highly recommend these for anyone who is an outdoor enthusiast in cold weather climates and for people who hike.

Your track record at the gym might be second to none. But how is your gym style? If you look great during your workout, you’ll feel much more confident in yourself. It’ll also give you an extra reason to head out for a workout and show off your new clothes! After all, the gym usually turns into a parade of everyone showing off their ripped muscles and tight abs, so why not turn it into a catwalk too?! Want to know how to look the part in the gym? Here is what you need.

Stylish Protective Sleeves

We have all worn protective sleeves at one point to support muscle weaknesses and protect injuries. You can buy them in a range of different styles and colors. Pick one that lets your personality shine right through! Wear a copper knee sleeve as well as one on your arm for maximum impact.

Eyecatching shoes

As well as being super fashionable, your shoes need to be the correct style for your workout. If you are jogging outside, on a sports track, or even just on a treadmill, you need shoes that support your weight. If you test your gait, you’ll know which style of running shoes are best for you. If your feet and legs aren’t exposed to as much impact through your choice of activity, you can opt for a lightweight sports shoe. To find your ideal pair, speak to a physician who can suggest what to go for.

Headbands

If you think headbands were left behind in the 80s, you’re very much mistaken! Lots of gym-goers wear headbands to hold their hair back. Don’t get annoyed by strands of hair falling in front of your face as you’re trying to lift weights or reach your new personal best on the exercise bike. Keep your hair slicked back under a headband. It’ll also save it from getting sweaty!

Long Sleeve Sweatshirt

This one is mainly for all you guys who prefer an outdoor workout. If temperatures dip slightly, you need to keep yourself wrapped up warm. Exercising out in the cold can cause extra strain on your muscles. If you don’t wrap them up warm, you will be increasing your risk of injuring yourself. So always check the weather before you head outside. If it looks a bit chilly, pull on a long sleeve sweatshirt and leggings.

Sports Bra

Ladies, you need effective support for your chest otherwise, you could be giving your fellow gym members an eyeful! In all serious, though, wearing a well-fitted sports bra will correctly support your breasts and reduce aches and pains. You won't do any serious damage if you do not wear a sports bra, but you will be saving yourself from a lot of discomforts! Visit your local sports shop to get one correctly fitted. Bras come in all different styles and colors, so you’ll have no trouble finding one you like.
Now you know how to look the part, there’s nothing stopping you smashing all your gym records!

TOMS and National Geographic Big Cats Collection launches
Toronto, ON – The One for One company, TOMS, today announced its partnership with National Geographic in support of its critical non-profit work through the TOMS and National Geographic Big Cats Collection. The special edition collection will be available for Canadians at TOMS.ca starting Tuesday, September 15.

When I learned that wild lions are at risk of being extinct, it inspired me to start the TOMS Animal Initiative,” said Heather Mycoskie, TOMS Chief Animal Lover. “Big cats in the wild are disappearing at an alarming rate, and this collection draws attention to the critical need to protect these majestic creatures for generations to come.”

Through the TOMS Animal Initiative, TOMS partners with nonprofit animal conservation organizations to drive awareness and funding for global animal protection. For 2015, TOMS has partnered with National Geographic to help with its efforts to protect big cats.

Big cats in the wild are disappearing and since 2009, National Geographic’s Big Cats Initiative has worked to reverse this decline through on-the-ground conservation and educational projects in Africa, Asia, and North and South America. These projects include instituting patrols to prevent lion snaring and poaching and building livestock enclosures to protect endangered cats from retaliatory killing. National Geographic’s net proceeds support vital exploration, conservation, research and education programs.

The TOMS and National Geographic Big Cats Collection features a special edition line of footwear for women, men and kids, sunglasses for men and women and a unisex backpack inspired by National Geographic’s Big Cats Initiative. Ranging in price from $38 to $169 CAD, each item in the collection features design elements representative of a big cat, as well as iconic photography from National Geographic’s image library.

The collection features the women’s Nat Geo Jaguar Classics ($70), the men’s Nat Geo Lion Paseos ($75), the youth and tiny Nat Geo Jaguar Classics ($48, $38), the youth and tiny Nat Geo Lion Classics ($48, $38), the Noah Sunglasses ($169), the Sandela 201 Sunglasses ($169), as well as the Savanna backpack ($98).

Mycoskie visited Botswana this summer to meet with Big Cats experts Dereck and Beverly Joubert to fully immerse herself in the Big Cat Initiative and to learn firsthand about the dangers facing Big Cats in the wild.

About TOMS:
In 2006, American traveler Blake Mycoskie befriended children in a village in Argentina and found they had no shoes to protect their feet. Wanting to help, he created TOMS, a company that would match every pair of shoes purchased with a pair of new shoes given to a child in need. One for One®.

Realizing that One for One could serve other global needs, Blake launched TOMS Eyewear in 2011 to help restore sight to persons in need with every purchase of sunglasses and optical frames. In 2014, TOMS Roasting Co. launched with the mission to provide clean water to developing communities with the purchase of premium coffee.

The most recent TOMS give is tied into the TOMS Bag Collection, which launched in early 2015, and helps provide safe births to mothers and babies in need through skilled birth attendant training and birth kits. Additionally, the TOMS StandUp Backpack Collection helps TOMS Giving Partners provide training for school staff and crisis counselors to help prevent and respond to instances of bullying.

TOMS is in business to improve lives. We identify global needs and create products to help address them. This simple idea is what makes us more than a company – we’re a movement that’s continually evolving.

Reebok launches Kids ATV19 shoes

Colourful footwear collection is designed for
play on all terrains

Toronto, ON – Leading fitness brand Reebok today unveiled its new line of ATV19 footwear for kids. Whether children want to run on pavement, climb on rocks, or play in the mud, Reebok has created the perfect shoe in its ATV19, which allows them to carry on playing whatever the conditions. Brand new to the Reebok Kids Fall/Winter 2013 collection, the ATV19 has 19 unique, colourful pods on the sole each designed with a rubber outsole to give kids added grip and traction while playing.

Having already established itself in the kids sport footwear market through its RealFlex and ZigTech offerings, Reebok is extending its kids offering with the ATV19 collection by giving kids a shoe that adapts to whatever surface they are playing on. Inspired by the tread of an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV), each pod on the ATV19 is strategically positioned to cushion the foot, provide traction when moving and be durable for all environments.

“At Reebok, we wanted to create a shoe that was not only practical, but also fun for kids to play in,” said Stewart Clark, Reebok Brand Leader. “Reebok understands that children don’t move to keep fit, they are active because it’s enjoyable. This is why we created the ATV19 as it allows kids to keep on having fun no matter where they are.”

Reebok hosted a playful event held at Toronto City Sports Centre to launch the new line which presented attending kids with the opportunity to try on the brightly coloured shoes as they went through Reebok’s ATV19 Obstacle Course.

Reebok’s ATV19 Obstacle Course was led by Jackie Clark, owner and general manager atFirePower Kids, a kids-focused fitness facility in Milton, Ontario, whose mission is to build a community of fitness through entertaining and unique programming, including CrossFit Kids and Circus fitness. Clark led the preschoolers and grade-schoolers through basic exercises that not only allowed them to experience the Reebok ATV19 on varied surfaces and through different activities, but to also learn about the importance of fitness at a young age.

Available in stores and online now, the ATV19 footwear for kids has bright pops of colour and unique shapes, making it ideal for the active child. The look, feel and technology are designed so that kids’ imaginations are opened up to the endless possibilities the shoe gives them.

Reebok Kids ATV19 footwear is available at Foot Locker, Sears, Sport Chek and through www.Reebok.ca at $75 for grade school sizes and $65 for preschool sizes.

Reebok is dedicated to empowering people to be fit for life, including kids. Reebok wants to inspire people to get moving and is passionate about helping kids lead a healthy and active lifestyle.

Toronto, ON – Leading fitness brand Reebok understands that when people train, they want to focus on their workout and goals. That’s why Reebok is introducing two additional footwear technologies to the Canadian market this March: Reebok ATV19+ and the DMXSKY, adding to its already proven ZigTech, RealFlex and SubLite lines. The fitness brand promises to have workout-specific footwear to keep distractions away as you focus on your fitness.

Reebok ATV19+

The first innovation is the introductions of the Reebok ATV19+ shoe. Grass, snow, mud, rocks, dirt or pavement – whatever surface a person is running on, the first-of-its-kind ATV19+ has got it covered. Unstoppable footwear designed to let people tackle any terrain head on, Reebok’s ATV19+ acts as a true all-terrain vehicle (ATV) for your feet. The design behind ATV19+ brings an irregular lug pattern, cushioned outriggers and a banked feel that combine for earth-shaking traction and high-speed stability.

“Reebok is taking a completely unique approach to designing a shoe made for all surfaces by reimagining the scale of traction lugs,” said Reebok’s Head of Advanced Innovation, Bill McInnis. “The oversized lugs on the sole of the shoe give the runner unparalleled ability to power through any terrain.”

Inspired by the tire geometry of all-terrain vehicles, ATV19+ features 19 irregular lugs designed to rip mud, snow, sand and grass out of the way. The ATV19+ technology works to grab the most terrain possible with each step, for optimal running on all surfaces. With bold style for the true fashion leader, ATV 19+ debuts in aggressive colourways including flat grey/black/acid green and red/solar green/white.

The Reebok ATV19+ is available today in select Foot Locker locations at a suggested retail price of $149.99.

Reebok DMXSKY

The second introduction for spring is the DMXSKY, which offers runners a new take on cushioning. In a similar fashion to Reebok’s original DMX system, the DMXSKY employs moving air technology inside three proprietary channels along the shoe’s outsole, moving the air from heel to toe and back. These channels don’t allow the air to move sideways, resulting in great stability for the runner.

“The unique thing about the DMXSKY is that its channels don’t allow the air to move too fast, so the shoe feels soft and plush when walking, and becomes firmer when running because the air can only move so fast. As every runner’s stride is different, the moving air finds its place where the runner needs it, when he needs it,” said McInnis. “The bubbles, the channels and the moving air all add up to Ridiculous Cushioning and, ultimately, in technology you can feel.”

The DMXSKY is part of Reebok’s endeavour to put variety and dynamism back into running. The brand wants runners around the world to mix it up, to vary their tempo, distances, gradients and terrain. The spring/summer 2013 running range embodies that belief, whereas the entire collection is designed to be versatile enough to take on any challenge.

The men’s Reebok DMXSKY will be available mid-March at select Foot Locker destinations at a suggested retail price of $139.99.

Reebok SubLite

First introduced for the fall/winter 2012 season with the Reebok SubLite Pro Rise basketball shoe, the SubLite technology means athletes no longer have to choose between comfort and everyday runnability for a lightweight ride, while maintaining foot support. Using a revolutionary dual injection process, this season’s SubLite Duo Run model offers two different densities of foam without the heavy cement and glue traditionally needed for stock fitting. The top midsole offers a soft feel underfoot that is accentuated by a lightweight molded PU sockliner, while the bottom foam offers a responsive feel and great durability. In fact, this SubLite foam is so durable, carbon rubber is only required in the highest ground contact areas – another secret to Reebok’s lightweight formula. The upper uses LiteFuse technology to provide seamless lightweight support, for an irritation-free fit and enhanced comfort.

The Reebok SubLite Duo Run will be available in April at Foot Locker at a suggested retail price of $99.99.

Reebok ZigTech

ZigTech is also back at it for 2013 with the ZigLite Rush. ZigTech running shoes feature soles engineered into an innovative zigzag shape, to provide unique energy return from heel to toe, with the perfect balance of cushioning and response. This season’s key style features the 3D FuseFrame support cage, locking the foot over the platform and giving a seamless fit. The Rush’s internal sleeve surrounds the foot to help provide a snug, comfortable run. The visually strong technology also features dual-density midsoles for an exceptionally light and smooth ride from heel strike to toe off. Reflective accents were added for safety in low light visibility.

The men’s gravel/excellent red Reebok ZigLite Rush is available at Foot Locker stores across the country for $119.99.

Reebok RealFlex

The RealFlex platform continues to evolve, but still retains its focus of promoting natural motion through the independent multi-directional nodes that make up the sole. In spring 2013, the RealFlex range retains a more moderate heel-to-toe drop than traditional shoes, allowing those who wear it to experience a more natural feel. The sole, however, maintains the support and protection often sacrificed by other barefoot offerings. New this season, the RealFlex Strength TR provides traditional flexibility and lightweight feel, plus extra mid-foot stability so it can be fast and strong, just like you.

The men’s and women’s Reebok RealFlex Strength TR are currently available at Sport Chek and Foot Locker stores across the country for $119.99.

“At Reebok we want to encourage people to incorporate variety and intensity into their workouts,” said Stewart Clark, Brand Leader at Reebok Canada. “We know that just doing the same thing every week becomes mundane. We want to enable people to change it up and make it much more effective, while giving them the best product to master whatever discipline they participate in. That’s why our technologies are designed to support a whole range of workouts. With the additions of innovative technologies such as the ATV19+ and DMXSKY complementing ZigTech, RealFlex and Sublite, Reebok promises technology you can feel.”

Interview opportunities with Stewart Clark, Brand Leader at Reebok Canada, or with a Reebok product expert are available upon request.
