What to Do When You Knock out a Tooth during Your Workout

Dental emergencies are no laughing matter at all. If you manage to knock a poor tooth out in the middle of a fast-paced exercise session, it’s not the end of the world, though. It’s critical to keep your full composure in times of urgent tooth-related dilemmas. If you remain calm and take a deep breath, you can get through any tooth disaster on the planet.

Stop Your Workout Immediately

It doesn’t matter if you’re a perfectionist. You can’t finish your workout with a tooth that’s sadly no longer inside of your mouth. Terminate your workout without a second of hesitation. Knocked out teeth are pressing emergencies. You need to take care of them as soon as possible. The sooner you take action, the better you’ll feel.

Retrieve the Tooth Via the Crown

It’s critical to retrieve the knocked out tooth via its crown. Never do so via its root. Get your tooth without waiting. Don’t give it the chance to linger on the floor or anywhere else. Refrain from making any contact with the root. This is critical for people who want to keep lost teeth in tiptop shape.

Get in Contact with Your Dentist

Give your dentist’s office a phone call immediately. This only works during business hours, though. If you’re able to get in contact with a staff member, find out if they can squeeze you in for an emergency appointment. Tell the representative your situation. Tell them that you cannot wait around long for dental care. You shouldn’t wait for longer than half an hour or so. Implant dentistry servicescan be a great option for people who have missing teeth.

Look for Emergency Dentists in Your Area

If your tooth crisis took place after business hours, you don’t have to feel vulnerable or stressed out. That’s because there are dependable emergency dentists who can help you take care of your knockout situation. Request recommendations for emergency dental clinics from people you know. Search the Internet for credible and trusted emergency dental offices, too. If you find a clinic that seems like a good fit for you, try to make an appointment without a second of deliberation.

Don’t wait to manage a knocked out tooth crisis. Be composed and do something about it swiftly. Emergency dental care may be your finest bet. Find out about implant dentistry and any other options that may be on hand for you.

BP is entering the US unconventional to gain on other IOCs in the large-scale multiple plays game, says GlobalData

Following the news (Friday 27 July) that BP is to acquire BHP’s US onshore unconventional positions in Permian, Eagle Ford and Haynesville and the analysis of Q2 earnings from ExxonMobil and Chevron, Adrian Lara, Senior Oil & Gas Analyst at GlobalData, a leading data and analytics company, offers his view on how this will impact the upstream sector:

“BP has definitely paid a premium on the US$10.5bn deal, based on GlobalData’s analysis of existing production acreages and expectation for undeveloped positions. The undeveloped acreage has different net present values depending on whether it is Eagle Ford, Permian or Haynesville. The Permian acreage is of particular value given its stacked formations, thickness and the available infrastructure. The current pipeline bottlenecks are a short term issue which should not matter much in the longer term strategy of acquiring unconventional assets with large reserves and quick development timeline.

“As with any other major international oil company (IOC) in the US unconventional sphere, the expectation for BP is to use its main advantage over more traditional mid and small size operators, which is the amount of capital expenditure (capex) the company can pour into large drilling programs and the operating efficiencies it can gain due to scale.

“This is exactly what ExxonMobil and Chevron have accomplished for a continuous increase in production in their Permian positions. The two companies are currently operating 34 and 19 rigs respectively in the play, aiming for double digit growth.”

New Organic Wellness Supplement
Keeps Women Strong & Healthy as They Age
Everyday Enzymes
- Created for Women by Women -

Dr. Liz Cruz Keeps women healthy.jpgWe all know, good nutrition is crucial for health (and this is especially true as you get older) ...but did you know that eating healthy doesn't necessarily mean your body is getting the right nutrients?! Many women don't realize they have a condition called "enzyme gap" which means even if they eat healthy, their body won't benefit because there aren't enough enzymes to absorb the nutrients! Enzyme gap may not only cause digestive problems, but it can also weaken the immune system and lead to a slew of other health issues like fatigue, acne, eczema, headaches, mood swings, joint pain, etc.

Luckily, there is an organic and healthy way to ensure you are getting the most out of those fruits and veggies!

ABOUT EVERYDAY ENZYMES:

Everyday Enzymes.pngEveryday Enzymes are an organic, all-natural supplement designed to help your body digest and absorb the maximum amount of nutrients. It supports the digestion of carbohydrates, proteins, and fats. This supplement can help not only with digestive issues (acid reflux, nausea, gas, etc.) but it can also boost the immune system, metabolism, and improve overall health. Everyday Enzymes may be given to young children, pets and it may even be taken during pregnancy / lactation. (In fact, expectant mothers find it helps with nausea!)

Digestive Enzymes Will Help You:

  • Eliminate abdominal pain, bloating, gas, and acid reflux.
  • Get the most nutrition out of the food you are already eating.
  • Get off of pharmaceutical or over-the-counter drugs.

WHY YOU NEEDS THIS:

We live in a quick-fix, medicine-hungry nation....but medicine is not always the answer! Our body can heal itself if given the chance and this drug-free, all-natural supplement will allow you to do that.

Many people suffer from minor (or major) stomach issues (like gas, bloating, acid reflux) and while taking Tums or Pepto Bismol may provide relief...it is merely helping the symptoms, not the problem. Everyday Enzymes get to the root of the problem and have been proven to be extremely effective in getting people off pharmaceutical or over-the-counter drugs for digestive issues.

A healthy stomach often benefits many other areas of health. Even if you don't have stomach problems, these supplements can help boost your immune system, fight fatigue, and even help with anxiety.

"Patients are shocked to learn that their stomach may be the cause of their other health problems," says the creator, Dr. Liz Cruz.

As a gastroenterologist and a parent of four kids, Cruz is determined to keep herself feeling good and staying healthy for her family in the most natural way possible. "It's amazing to see people get off pharmaceutical drugs in an all-natural way. This information and these tools need to be shared with everyone now more than ever! It's never too late to change how you feel," adds Cruz.

THE SCIENCE BEHIND DIGESTIVE ENZYMES:

In order for your body to benefit from what you eat, you need digestive enzymes to break down the food. Proteins need to be broken down into amino acids; fats need to be broken down into fatty acids and cholesterol; and carbohydrates need to be broken down into simple sugars. At birth we are given a certain potential for manufacturing enzymes in our body, creating an enzyme “reserve.” However, if we do not continually replenish that reserve through proper nutrition, it runs out. Enzyme deficiency can cause digestive issues, a weakened immune system, fatigue, acne, eczema, headaches, mood swings, joint pain.

Having a lack of digestive enzymes puts tremendous stress on the body, because it is then forced to draw reserves from other locations throughout the body. The more we depend on our body to create digestive enzymes without the proper tools, the less time and energy the body’s systems and organs have for rebuilding and replacing worn out damaged cells and tissue. This puts a tremendous amount of stress on the endocrine system, as well as the immune system. After years and years of relying on our “reserve,” it is eventually depleted.

Dr. Cruz is on a mission to educate women and help them adapt to a healthy lifestyle s they age.

The legalization of medicinal cannabis products will stimulate the use of marijuana extract CBD in drinks, says GlobalData

Following the news that medicinal cannabis products are to be legalized,

Aleksandrina Yotova, Consumer Analyst at GlobalData, a leading data and analytics company, offers her view on the likely impact in the drinks market:

‘‘This change in legislation for medicinal cannabis will spur further growth in the Cannabidiol (CBD) market in drinks, an increasingly popular legal form of cannabis.

‘‘CBD is a marijuana extract, which is not considered a controlled substance in the UK, and is therefore 100% legal – as opposed to the psychoactive chemical Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).

‘‘CBD has recently started to gain traction in the UK market as a functional ingredient in drinks. As CBD is non-psychoactive and there is a widespread belief in its medical value, it will keep rising in popularity, especially among consumers wanting to relax while remaining sober.

‘‘Holland & Barrett has been selling CBD oil as a food supplement since the start of 2018. The retailer has recently reported stable and growing sales of the format. Consequently in June, Holland & Barrett launched Love Hemp Water, a functional spring water infused with CBD. We expect to see more brands moving into this space.

‘‘Cloud 9 Brewing, a craft beer producer in the UK has recently launched its High Flyer Session IPA with Cannabis Oil Extract, marketed as offering "blissfully elevated drinking experience" and containing 0% THC. A 330ml bottle contains 10mg of CBD extract, obtained from organic Cannabis Sativa.’’

Skin Cancer Index 2018

62 Nations analysed based on Skin Cancer Susceptibility and Socio-Economic Factors

  • New Zealand ranks the highest in new cases of skin cancer by population with score of the 10,00

  • Sweden is the country which has the most efficient access to cancer treatments due to a national health spending score of 4,20

  • Nigeria has the least access to skin cancer treatment therefore having a total mortality rate of 67% per capita

  • Even with a high average UV Factor of 7.54, Bangladesh has the lowest amount of new cases with a score of 1,0

Berlin, Germany 26/07/2018 - derma.plus, the platform for dermatological advice from leading physicians, has conducted an international study on skin cancer to better understand the geographical and socio-economic factors which make incidences of the disease more common in certain regions more frequently than others. Investigating 62 countries across the globe this study aims to draw attention to a various array factors influencing skin cancer cases, concerning prevalence and treatment in many different parts of the world.

Divided into two sections, the International Skin Cancer Index can be divided into the Skin Cancer Susceptibility Index and the Socio-Economic Treatment Index. The first index analyses the UV factor, the average population skin-tone and the rate of incidences from a range of countries to identify geographically where the highest rates of skin cancer are most likely to occur. The latter, cross references national health spending, access to treatment and individual income against mortality rates to better understand the efforts undertaken worldwide to combat the disease.

“Incidence of both non-melanoma and melanoma skin cancers has increased dramatically over the past decades,” states Prof. Dietrich Abeck, Chief Medical Advisor for derma.plus. “This study is indicative that a high level of UV exposure, coupled with a lighter skin tone (as calculated by the Fitzpatrick-Scale) led to a higher diagnosis of skin cancer. However on the other hand, the index reveals that countries such as New Zealand and Australia, which have some of the highest incidences of skin cancer, also have some of the lowest death rates due to high levels of health expenditure.”

Taking into account the fact that skin cancer claims a life every 10 minutes, the study aims to highlight the precautions that can be taken across the world to combat the disease. Death rates from this disease have doubled since 1990 and stakeholders such as the World Health Organization are struggling cope with the magnitude of cases and inequality of international medical care. Although the  rate at which skin cancer occurs may be high in countries with a combination of light skin tone and high UV exposure, adequate health care spending appears to be effective in keeping the mortality rate lower than in countries with fewer diagnoses and less funding for skin cancer prevention.

POLITICS OF AUTISM IN U.S. LEAD TO MISGUIDED PRIORITIES AND DISINFORMATION, LEAVING TOO MANY FAMILIES AND INDIVIDUALS BEHIND

New Oxford U. Press Book by Autism Research Pioneer Exposes the Social and Political Vulnerabilities of the Autism Community, Recommends a New Way Forward

San Francisco, CAIncreasing numbers of autism diagnoses. Hysteria around vaccines. The mystique of the autistic savant… Amid so much buzz about autistic spectrum disorders (ASDds) there’s painfully little focus on how we can better support children with autism and their families right now. Today.

Enter distinguished autism scientist Bryna Siegel, Ph.D., who has devoted her career to seeking solutions to these immediate issues. In her new book, The Politics of Autism (Oxford University Press, September 3, 2018), Siegel examines our culture’s ideas about autism and the reasons for the misconceptions driving counter-productive decision-making in both the public and the private realms.

The Politics of Autism also exposes just how vulnerable the autism community remains from a political and social perspective. Treatment options and choices about the futures of individuals with ASDs are often driven by deeply flawed policies and regulations, the book explains. This has led to misguided priorities that neglect the real needs of most individuals and families living with autism.

From the diagnosis process and its impact on access to services, to flaws in autism education programs and treatments, The Politics of Autism offers a 360 degree look at the contradictions and misinformation obstructing the way to a more constructive dialogue and effective solutions.

The book does a deep dive on the following topics, among many others:

  • What is fake news about autism, and what’s real?
  • Real reasons the number of autism diagnoses is increasing.
  • Why “full inclusion” and “core curriculum” emphases in autism education may be inappropriate and even harmful.
  • Why we should ditch traditional academic curriculum for most with ASDs, instead focusing on independence and vocational skills to help prevent ASDs adult unemployment (which is rampant).
  • What’s behind excessive costs of some autism treatments, and how can it be changed?
  • How the Internet lures parents into trying miracle ‘medicines,’ creates myths and disinformation, and can result in disillusionment when costly fake cures don’t work.
  • Unpacking the vaccine wars - and why vaccines do not cause autism.

Ultimately, The Politics of Autism argues that we can do much better. Reaching into the very depths of identity politics, Siegel recommends a sensible, policy- and science- based way forward.

Praise for The Politics of Autism

This excellent book is very timely, important, and relevant. It is wonderful to have all of these extremely important issues presented in such a cogent and compelling fashion. Siegel is someone who is never afraid to walk out on that limb and say things that others will not say and which may be unpopular. She speaks the truth, like it or not. This book will anger some people while giving solace to others. This is a book people will definitely talk about. I love it.

Laura Schreibman, PhD, Distinguished Professor, Emeritus, Department of Psychology, University of California, San Diego

With 40 years of contributions to the field, Dr. Siegel offers a scientifically informed, pragmatic, long term view on the unmet needs of children and adults with autism and how the politics of autism have failed them. Dr. Siegel suggests reasonable and practical measures to optimize intervention and support for the individual child and his family that we should take seriously. The issues raised in The Politics of Autism extend much beyond autism and should be of interest to a larger audience of families whose children have been affected by different types of disability.

Eric Fombonne, MD, Oregon Health & Science University, Professor of Psychiatry, Director of Autism Research, Institute on Development & Disability

An illuminating treatise on an important and poorly understood subject, Bryna Siegel’s The Politics of Autism explores the many ways that diagnosis and treatment of the condition have gone wrong. This is a vital resource, written by an expert guide who shares knowledge and experience garnered from more than forty years of working with autistic people.
