Fashion Talks™ reveals full schedule at Toronto Fashion Week®

TORONTO, ON — The countdown is on as Toronto Fashion Week®, in collaboration with RE\SET™, is only days away. The three-day long event proudly shares an extended schedule for Fashion Talks™, taking place Sept. 4-6.

The live taping of the Fashion Talks™ podcast, hosted by Donna Bishop in the RE\SET™ Studio (upper level of Yorkville Village, 136 Yorkville Ave.) will see her chat with some of the most recognizable faces in fashion, film, television and photography to share their stories in an intimate studio setting. Guests will reveal insights, observations and historical moments on how fashion helps to shape the world in which we live in and how our world shapes fashion and the clothing we wear.

Kicking off Fashion Talks at Toronto Fashion Week on Sept. 4 is Elizabeth Peyton-Jones (fashion activist and founder of the Responsible Trust for Models) about her work within the fashion and modelling industry to protect, educate and empower young models. On Sept. 5, starting at 2 PM, a double header will see Canada’s leading film and television costume designers from The Canadian Alliance of Film & Television Costume Arts & Design (CAFTCAD) discuss the process and power of custom design and the upcoming exhibit From Concept to Creation (Sept. 4-30 at Yorkville Village), followed by an engaging discussion with  Caitlin Cronenberg and Jessica Ennis (photographer and production designer), about the power of fashion in their new book The Endings: Photographic Stories of Love, Loss, Heartbreak and Beginning Again.

At 2:30 PM on Sept. 6, Donna is joined by the cast of the new fashion competition series STITCHED, host and fashion model Kim Cloutier (@cloutierkim) and resident judges, style expert Joe Zee (@mrjoezee) and ELLE Canada’s Editor-in-Chief Vanessa Craft(@vanessacraft). Premiering Sept. 9 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Slice, STITCHED is the stylish competition series where skilled fashion designers match wits and stitches in an epic fashion throw-down, facing off in dramatic themed challenges. Rounding out the last day of Toronto Fashion Week, Dr. Alexandra Palmer (Nora E. Vaughan Senior Curator, Textiles and Costume at the Royal Ontario Museum) will speak to guests about the importance of fashion and textile collections for museums and for its visitors.
