Toronto, ON – Leading fitness brand Reebok understands that when people train, they want to focus on their workout and goals. That’s why Reebok is introducing two additional footwear technologies to the Canadian market this March: Reebok ATV19+ and the DMXSKY, adding to its already proven ZigTech, RealFlex and SubLite lines. The fitness brand promises to have workout-specific footwear to keep distractions away as you focus on your fitness.

Reebok ATV19+

The first innovation is the introductions of the Reebok ATV19+ shoe. Grass, snow, mud, rocks, dirt or pavement – whatever surface a person is running on, the first-of-its-kind ATV19+ has got it covered. Unstoppable footwear designed to let people tackle any terrain head on, Reebok’s ATV19+ acts as a true all-terrain vehicle (ATV) for your feet. The design behind ATV19+ brings an irregular lug pattern, cushioned outriggers and a banked feel that combine for earth-shaking traction and high-speed stability.

“Reebok is taking a completely unique approach to designing a shoe made for all surfaces by reimagining the scale of traction lugs,” said Reebok’s Head of Advanced Innovation, Bill McInnis. “The oversized lugs on the sole of the shoe give the runner unparalleled ability to power through any terrain.”

Inspired by the tire geometry of all-terrain vehicles, ATV19+ features 19 irregular lugs designed to rip mud, snow, sand and grass out of the way. The ATV19+ technology works to grab the most terrain possible with each step, for optimal running on all surfaces. With bold style for the true fashion leader, ATV 19+ debuts in aggressive colourways including flat grey/black/acid green and red/solar green/white.

The Reebok ATV19+ is available today in select Foot Locker locations at a suggested retail price of $149.99.

Reebok DMXSKY

The second introduction for spring is the DMXSKY, which offers runners a new take on cushioning. In a similar fashion to Reebok’s original DMX system, the DMXSKY employs moving air technology inside three proprietary channels along the shoe’s outsole, moving the air from heel to toe and back. These channels don’t allow the air to move sideways, resulting in great stability for the runner.

“The unique thing about the DMXSKY is that its channels don’t allow the air to move too fast, so the shoe feels soft and plush when walking, and becomes firmer when running because the air can only move so fast. As every runner’s stride is different, the moving air finds its place where the runner needs it, when he needs it,” said McInnis. “The bubbles, the channels and the moving air all add up to Ridiculous Cushioning and, ultimately, in technology you can feel.”

The DMXSKY is part of Reebok’s endeavour to put variety and dynamism back into running. The brand wants runners around the world to mix it up, to vary their tempo, distances, gradients and terrain. The spring/summer 2013 running range embodies that belief, whereas the entire collection is designed to be versatile enough to take on any challenge.

The men’s Reebok DMXSKY will be available mid-March at select Foot Locker destinations at a suggested retail price of $139.99.

Reebok SubLite

First introduced for the fall/winter 2012 season with the Reebok SubLite Pro Rise basketball shoe, the SubLite technology means athletes no longer have to choose between comfort and everyday runnability for a lightweight ride, while maintaining foot support. Using a revolutionary dual injection process, this season’s SubLite Duo Run model offers two different densities of foam without the heavy cement and glue traditionally needed for stock fitting. The top midsole offers a soft feel underfoot that is accentuated by a lightweight molded PU sockliner, while the bottom foam offers a responsive feel and great durability. In fact, this SubLite foam is so durable, carbon rubber is only required in the highest ground contact areas – another secret to Reebok’s lightweight formula. The upper uses LiteFuse technology to provide seamless lightweight support, for an irritation-free fit and enhanced comfort.

The Reebok SubLite Duo Run will be available in April at Foot Locker at a suggested retail price of $99.99.

Reebok ZigTech

ZigTech is also back at it for 2013 with the ZigLite Rush. ZigTech running shoes feature soles engineered into an innovative zigzag shape, to provide unique energy return from heel to toe, with the perfect balance of cushioning and response. This season’s key style features the 3D FuseFrame support cage, locking the foot over the platform and giving a seamless fit. The Rush’s internal sleeve surrounds the foot to help provide a snug, comfortable run. The visually strong technology also features dual-density midsoles for an exceptionally light and smooth ride from heel strike to toe off. Reflective accents were added for safety in low light visibility.

The men’s gravel/excellent red Reebok ZigLite Rush is available at Foot Locker stores across the country for $119.99.

Reebok RealFlex

The RealFlex platform continues to evolve, but still retains its focus of promoting natural motion through the independent multi-directional nodes that make up the sole. In spring 2013, the RealFlex range retains a more moderate heel-to-toe drop than traditional shoes, allowing those who wear it to experience a more natural feel. The sole, however, maintains the support and protection often sacrificed by other barefoot offerings. New this season, the RealFlex Strength TR provides traditional flexibility and lightweight feel, plus extra mid-foot stability so it can be fast and strong, just like you.

The men’s and women’s Reebok RealFlex Strength TR are currently available at Sport Chek and Foot Locker stores across the country for $119.99.

“At Reebok we want to encourage people to incorporate variety and intensity into their workouts,” said Stewart Clark, Brand Leader at Reebok Canada. “We know that just doing the same thing every week becomes mundane. We want to enable people to change it up and make it much more effective, while giving them the best product to master whatever discipline they participate in. That’s why our technologies are designed to support a whole range of workouts. With the additions of innovative technologies such as the ATV19+ and DMXSKY complementing ZigTech, RealFlex and Sublite, Reebok promises technology you can feel.”
